Russian Federation's Defense Ministry accuses the Georgian side of violation of South Ossetia's airspace. On Aug 26, peacekeepers stationed in the conflict zone recorded a flight of a Georgian unmanned aircraft, REGNUM correspondent quotes Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel General Anatoly Nogovitsyn to inform journalists at a press conference on Aug 26. The aircraft remained in the jurisdiction of Russian peacekeepers for 30 minutes. Nogovitsyn explained that the unmanned airplane entered South Ossetian air from the south and proceeded to the north.

The aircraft's route coincided with the route of peacekeeping forces, Nogovitsyn said. This, according to the general, indicates that the Georgian side is not going to abandon their aggressive ambitions. Russia, however, strictly sticks to her commitments and continues to pull back its troops from the region to the sites of their permanent deployment in the territory of the Russian Federation.
