New town can appear in Nizhniy Novgorod region by 2030

The town-planning Council of Nizhniy Novgorod Region has endorsed a project concept of a Globe Town in Borskiy flood-plain, reports a REGNUM correspondent.

The project of multipurpose district developed by Dante O. Benini and Partners Architects (Italy) together with Nizhegorodkapstroy, envisages attraction of 750-800 billion rbl. of private investments.

The Globe Town includes an international trade centre (three towers of 600-meter height), an opera house and a library under a huge sphere “Globe” with a diameter of 120 m, aharbor, a water park, a health center, a stadium, botanical gardens and an entertaining center of the Disneyland type.

It is planned to erect over 10 million sq. m. living spaces (for approximately 400 thousand persons) and almost as many offices, and trading-entertaining infrastructure on the area of more than 3 thousand hectares. Provisional terms of construction are 2010-2030.
