Russia’s most wanted man, Chechen rebel leader Shamil Basayev, was killed in a security raid in Russia’s restive southern province, Russian news agencies reported citing the country’s top security official. The announcement came only a couple of weeks after Shamil Basayev was named the new vice-president of the self-styled Ichkeria (Chechnya).
