No influence of Maradykovskiy facility for chemical weapons destruction upon health conditions of residents of Kirov Region registered

13,000 people underwent medical examination in Kirov Region in the area of Maradykovskiy facility for chemical weapons destruction in 2007. No influence of the facility upon their health was registered, REGNUM was informed at the press center of the regional government.

According to the press center, ecological and hygiene monitoring of atmospheric air, drinking water, water in open water reservoirs, soil and medical examination of 672 children living in the territory was conducted in the area of the Maradykovskiy facility (Orichevsky and Kotelnichesky administrative districts).

According to the research, no influence of the facility for chemical weapons destruction upon health of inhabitants was found. Neither poisonous substance nor disintegration products were found in the air, or in soil as well as in water and in bottom sediments, they stressed at the press center.

As they noted at the press center, in 2008, as addition to the Clinical Diagnostic Center in the village of Orichi, a similar medical centre is expected to start working in the town of Kotelnich, which will help extending the scope of monitoring health of residents of the region.
