Norwegian authorities release Russian trawler Koralnes

Norwegian authorities have released Russian trawler “Koralnes” and let it leave the port of Bodo, where the ship had been anchored for the last days, a REGNUM correspondent was informed at “Sevrybkom-1” company, the owner of the vessel. According to the staff of the company, bank guarantees of paying the fines were received by the Norwegian authorities so far. In response, the police allowed the trawler to leave the port. Neither the ship owner nor the captain are going to appeal the decision to impose the fine.
The Russian trawler “Koralnes”, which home port is Murmansk, was arrested by the Norwegian authorities on the night of Monday, March 24. An inspection revealed violation of rules of filing information as when the vessel had finished fishing and sailed to the port of Sortland to unload the fish, the captain had not informed the Norwegian Fisheries Department about completing fishing, which he was supposed to do. During the inspection there were 48.5 tons of fish including 33 tons of cod onboard. According to “Sevrybkom-1” representatives, the crew is fine now. There is still enough water and supply including the required fuel onboard for getting to the homeport.
