President of Finland: Results of parliamentary vote in Russia reflect viewpoint of Russian societyREGNUM reports ambassador of Finland in Russia Harry Helenius to say at a news conference in Moscow Dec 5 that international observers worked in Russia, first of all, in behalf of OSCE, the Council of Europe, and Nordic Council. Observers from Finland did not directly participate in the Russian parliamentary election. Mr. Helenius said that the leadership of his country has already expressed its position on the issue. President of Finland Tarja Halonen stated that the results of the vote reflected the point of view of the Russian society. Inside the country, however, one can often hear people say that the accent was on support of executive power, not the actual election, the ambassador said. I am sure that Russia will pay attention to all the reported cases of violations, he added. 20:11 12/05/2007 COMMENT ON THIS NEWS ! (please, do not use "http://") |
