Provisional list of victims in South Ossetia: Name, Cause of Death, Burial PlaceNon-governmental commission for investigation of war crimes in South Ossetia and help to civilian victims has published a provisional list of residents of South Ossetia killed during the days of Georgian aggression Aug 7-12, 2008. The commission comments that the list is provisional, since identification of bodies and sites of burial is very time-consuming: many bodies are largely fragmented due to the nature of weapons used against residential areas; many people could not properly bury their relatives and neighbors during the continuing military action they often buried them in their backyards or along roadsides. Thus only those whose identity was confirmed are in the list. So far, there is 311 names with a short description of the cause of death and place of burial. REGNUM publishes the list of the victims in South Ossetia as for Sep 4, 2008 (see the Russian-language version). The list is going to be updated. 12:57 09/05/2008 COMMENT ON THIS NEWS !
