Russia
will provide humanitarian aid to Serbian enclaves in Kosovo. On March
24, president of Russia Vladimir
Putin instructed head of government to work out the issue, NTV
informed.
According
to Russian foreign minister's report to the head of state, the
situation with humanitarian aid in Serbian enclaves in Kosovo has
drastically deteriorated in the past weeks. Serbian government has
recently addressed Russia asking humanitarian aid to support
population in these enclaves.
The
Serbs are first of all interested in medical supplies, medical
equipment, extended-storage food, and hygiene-related products. “We
would consider it important to honor this request,” Sergei
Lavrov said.
“If
humanitarian help is needed, let us do it, but without political
overtones. I am asking the head of government to work out the issue,”
Putin replied.
