Success at the yesterday’s Russian parliamentary election of political parties that in some way support Putin’s political course can be regarded as a successful referendum of trust to the plan of Vladimir Putin, REGNUM correspondent in Kiev quotes Ukrainian political scientist, head of Center for Civil Society Studies Vitaly Kulik to say.

According to the expert, Putin has receive constitutional majority sufficient for introducing any innovations, transforming the ‘power vertical’ and creating new mechanisms for influencing the state’s policies and political course “by someone who is not even the country’s president”. He also noted that Russia’s foreign policy would remain in the course of “national economic egoism of Russia.” “They will build profitable for them relations with countries of the near abroad and opponent policies towards the west,” Kulik said. He forecasts that relations with Ukraine will stay in their present course, although in the future, certain latent problems may aggravate, such as the issue of Crimea or rights of the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine.
