Russian FM: Latvian officials did not march with Waffen SS legionaries
“Unfortunately, despite numerous protests of international and Latvian community, Riga Mayor's Office, this year again, allowed to hold a neo-Nazi march on March 16,” commented Russian foreign ministry officials on the question of Russian media about the Legion Day march held in Riga on March 16. “Latvian officials did not participate in the action. However, this does not alter the shameful nature of the gathering.”
“History embodied in the Nuremberg trials has condemned the Waffen SS fascist organization and its barbaric crimes, regardless of what national outfits their offspring are dressed in,” REGNUM correspondent quoted the Russian foreign ministry to state.
