Russia’s FM confirms LUKOIL Overseas employee to be detained in LibyaRussian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Mikhail Kamynin have confirmed that employee of the LUKOIL Overseas Company Alexander Tsygankov has been detained in Tripoli (Libya), Russian MFA press service informs. The case is being investigated. I don’t think that we need larger commentary at this point, Kamynin said. Officers of the Russian embassy in the country have already met with Tsygankov. We have used the Russia’s Interior Ministry’s and our embassy’s leverage to find out the reasons of the detainment of the Russian citizen and to ensure his release as soon as possible. We are counting on the incident’s being settled promptly. As REGNUM informed earlier, Alexander Tsygankov was detained in Libya in the end of November; he has been presented no charges, however. Russian embassy in Libya has confirmed the fact of the detainment. The embassy’s officers commented that the diplomats were taking efforts to free the Russian citizen as soon as possible. 15:33 12/04/2007 COMMENT ON THIS NEWS ! (please, do not use "http://") |
