Serbian economy, defense ministers demand action plan against Kosovo independence
Read it in Russian
Minister of economy and
regional development of Serbia, head of G17+ Party Mladjan Dinkic stated on March 24 that plan of action against Kosovo independence
should not be kept in secret any longer, Beta news agency informed.
“I do not understand why do
we have to keep it secret. It is bad that certain things are
published by the media and not discussed by the government,” he
observed.
Dinkic is especially
concerned with the fact that some of publicized plan provisions do
not recommend that Serbian ministers meet with ministers of countries
who have recognized Kosovo.
Serbian defense minister
Dragan Šutanovac of Democratic Party has stated that he has not yet
seen text of proposal submitted by minister for Kosovo and Metohia
Slobodan Samardzic (Democratic Party of Serbia) to deputy head of UN
mission in Kosovo Larry Rossin.
Šutanovac has stated at a
press conference in Serbian General Headquarters that he would like
to get familiarized with the plan content. “It is downright
impossible that we do not discuss at a government session a platform
of negotiation with UN mission with regard to Kosovo. They who think
that they can stage everything behind the scenes, are wrong,” he
stated.
Experts believe that
ministers from the Democratic Party of Boris
Tadic and its coalition partner G17+ are well aware of the
agreement text that was, besides, published by Albanian media in
Kosovo and Belgrade Večernje Novosti daily.
The ministers' reaction
proves that on the eve of election, the acting technical government
of Serbia is busy with political maneuvering, not achieving agreement
on such a matter of national concern as the status of Kosovo and
Metohia.
