The Communist Party in its present form will hardly survive until elections that are to be held in 2011, declared on Dec 3 head of faction of the Fair Russia Party in the State Duma Alexander Babakov, while commenting on allegations of possible start of new series of talks on alliance between the parties. I am deeply convinced that most reasonable and responsible party members will decide and join Fair Russia during this time period (until 2011), REGNUM correspondent quotes Babakov to say.
I am deeply convinced that the current course of the CPRF is not really connected to the ideas of communism. Today, most people are bent to the ideas of socialism, to the social-democratic values. Fair Russia gives answers to these questions more straightforwardly, without speculating on the nostalgic reminiscences usually exploited in the rhetoric of the Communist Party leadership, one the Fair Russia Party leaders said.
Commenting on suggestion that the FR is intending not to unify leftist political forces but to incorporate CPRF, who has received more votes during election to the State Duma of the 5th convocation than the FR, Babakov stated: Regarding the acquisition, we have to discuss the form. Babakov reminded that Fair Russia initiated merger of leftist political forces in 2006.
