Ukraine intends to sell electricity to Slovakia
Ukrainian and Slovak ministries in charge will consider the question of supplying the Ukrainian electricity to Slovakia in detail within two or three weeks “to find mutual understanding in the issue.” The announcement was made by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič at their joint news conference in Uzhgorod, a REGNUM correspondent informs citing pres office of the Ukrainian leader.
During the talks, the sides paid special attention to the energy cooperation. According to the Ukrainian president, the energy issue took shape of three blocks during the talks. In particular, it is the coming energy summit in Kiev planned for May 22-23, where Slovakia was also invited. Another issue in the cooperation is implementation of the project to transfer Caspian light oil by Druzhba pipeline via the Slovak territory.
