Washington denies supplying weapons to Georgia
The administration of George W. Bush called statement that U.S. Navy ships with humanitarian assistance directed to Georgia also supply weapons to Georgia ''absurd.'' According to Reuters, Deputy Press Secretary of White House Tony Fratto said this on August, 26. The US president’s administration representative assured that there was only humanitarian aid that had been sent to Georgia, and nothing more. On Aug 26, Russian MFA head Sergey Lavrov stated that NATO resumed weapons supplies to Georgia.
